Introduction
CBRE is the leading full-service real estate services and investment organisation in the world with 2019 revenues of $23.9 billion and over 100,000 employees.
CBRE offers its clients a range of integrated services across sectors including Healthcare, Industrial and Logistics, Government and Public Sector and Life Sciences.
CBRE's services include: facilities; transaction and project management; property management; investment management; appraisal and valuation; property leasing; strategic consulting; property sales; mortgage services and development services.
NextShoot had worked with CBRE on a variety of talking head interview videos before we were commissioned by the London Marketing Team to produce a number of case studies with filming at client locations. These ongoing case studies have included:
Virgin Media, Reading (Advisory & Transaction Services)
The Royal College of Pathologists (London Building Consultancy)
Sanofi, Reading (Advisory & Transaction Services)
Pre-Production
Liaising with CBRE's marketing team in each relevant department we worked to turn a one-page case study document into a video outline. CBRE identified the key speakers we would interview and together we teased out the content that would be covered by CBRE and client parties in their interviews.
The videos followed a traditional case study format - challenges faced, client expertise, outputs - but CBRE were keen to elevate the quality of the broll material to capture the excellence of the fit-out or architecture.
The location recce was absolutely essential to tie down spaces for interviews but also to carefully plan the broll of the building itself, taking account of the movement of light throughout the day.
Filming
We crewed each shoot with a Producer/ Director, a DoP and a Camera Assistant.
Interviews were shot on a pair of Sony FS7 MkIIs and we later used one of these cameras on our Dana Dolly set up - a metre of track on a pair of lowboy stands with wheels - and another on a tripod to capture broll of the building.
Some of the building shots were purely architectural, illustrating the selection of materials and fabrics and various design techniques. Other shots demonstrated the way that staff interacted with and benefited from the space. Smooth tracking shots of personnel moving through the offices were captured with a Sony AS7 MkII mounted on a Ronin gimbal.
Post-Production
Each case study was structured to showcase the expertise of the CBRE teams involved - such as Advisory & Transaction Services or London Building Consultancy - and the company-wide capabilities on offer to clients.
The 3-4 minute videos were subtitled and then cutdown versions were created for Social Media.
The result is a series of filmic, carefully crafted videos that showcase the skills, diligence and market-leading position of CBRE and the staff-centric offices of their clients.
