NextShoot has worked with CBRE on a range of video production services in London and the regions, including case studies of key property projects.

The Brief
NextShoot was approached by CBRE’s Advisory & Transaction Services department to create a case study on Virgin Media’s 120,000 sq ft building in Reading.

The video was to feature input from CBRE’s Project Management team also and speakers from Virgin Media.

Visually the brief was to capture the scale of the building and details of the fit-out which had been completed to a very high spec and were designed to reflect Virgin Media’s brand values.

Our Approach
We worked with CBRE to structure the interview content, working initially from a written case study document. We divided the content between the four interviewees: Virgin Media’s Head of Programme Management Office and their Brand Experience Manager, and CBRE’s Director, Project Management and Senior Director, Advisory & Transaction Services department.

In an open plan office environment it can be a challenge to find spaces where it is quiet enough for an interview and where there isn’t a lot of footfall. However, we were keen for some if not all of the interviews to have a backdrop that gave a sense of the office environment and so we filmed in the large atrium lobby, avoiding the Christmas tree in the background.

Given the early sunset in late-November, which meant a short filming day, we had a second camera operator who concentrated solely on capturing broll, including shots on the slider, that would bring movement and interest to the edit.
The Results
A video production company inevitably wants to capture attractive broll footage, but we were keen, as ever, that this 3-4 minute testimonial video wasn’t just filmic, but included all the agreed editorial points (significant savings for Virgin in operational expenditure/ the role of CBRE’s knowledge of off-market opportunities/ how CBRE managed the transaction and fit-out to meet Virgin’s extremely challenging timescales etc).

The combination of the carefully produced interview content and the cinematic fit-out material created a clear and elegant video that highlights CBRE’s expertise and Virgin Media’s brand values.

The long form video was subtitled and cutdown versions were created for Social Media.
