Axis House

Paris Smith

As one of the UK's most trusted office fit-out companies, Axis House are known for designing and building exceptional, inspiring workspaces. Their strategy for complex project realisations is built on a proven approach of precision, partnership, and care.

When Paris Smith, a large regional legal firm, needed an urgent update for their four-storey Southampton office, they turned to Axis House for a contemporary redesign that would foster staff collaboration, meet specific wellbeing and sustainability goals, and would create a warm, welcoming ‘home-from-home’ feel for staff and clients.

The challenge for Axis House was to turn dark, uninspiring offices into a bright, inviting space optimised for wellbeing and functionality. They delivered a striking transformation, incorporating glass-walled rooms, collaboration booths, and biophilic design elements.

The Brief
We were invited to produce a Client Case Study Video, focusing on the Paris Smith project. The primary goal was to illustrate Axis House’s process from concept to completion, and to demonstrate both their quality of work and their dedication to client success.

The brief required us to capture and articulate the key stages of their process: from the initial design and pre-visualisation through to the building and fit-out/installation. It would be essential to shoot at the Axis House offices as well as the Paris Smith site, and to capture the transformation during and after production.

The video also needed to accomplish two main objectives: showcase their systematic approach (The Fit-Out Formula™) and serve as an authentic client testimonial, highlighting the quality of design and commitment to client management.

Our Approach
During in-depth discussions with the Axis House team, we immersed ourselves in their strategy and client approach, enabling us to pinpoint the visually compelling key moments within the Fit-Out Formula™ that would form the cornerstones of the video.

For the Design and Pre-visualisation stage, we filmed interviews and team meetings at the Axis House’s showroom office, capturing moments of detailed design work and collaboration.

To document the Building and Fit-Out stage, we visited the Paris Smith site multiple times during the construction phase. Our focus was on highlighting craftsmanship, precision, and quality of the installed materials, as well as elements central to the 'home-from-home' brief, like glass partitioning, striking joinery, planting, and tactile textures.

Once the project was handed over, we filmed the finished space with a cinematic approach and an eye for detail, highlighting the bright, inviting and highly functional work environment Axis House had created for Paris Smith. We utilised both movement and lighting to emphasise natural light maximisation, and took care to document the thought and effort invested in creating a versatile workspace designed to accommodate diverse working styles, such as collaboration booths and focus pods.

Crucially, we secured a client testimonial interview with Paris Smith Practice Director Sue Murphy, specifically addressing the clarity of communication and the team’s ability to act as strategic partners who delivered on the well-being and collaboration goals set out in the brief.

The Results
The finished film serves as an in-depth demonstration of Axis House’s promise to deliver exceptional, human-centred workspaces through an invested and client-focused process.

It provides potential customers with a visual guide through the stages of their proven Fit-Out Formula™, acting as a concise and clear introduction to Axis House’s approach.

Stunning shots of the finished Paris Smith office capture the design mastery and bright, collaborative, and tactile aesthetic, further demonstrating Axis House’s ability to incorporate WELL principles and biophilic design.

The interviews with Paris Smith Practice Director Sue Murphy authentically prove their high standards of client management and personal approach, communicating that Axis House is an industry leader whose commitment to integrity and excellence underpins every project.
