The Royal Shakespeare Company is dedicated to bringing the Bard's work to life and Making Shakespeare vivid, accessible and enjoyable for young people aged 5-25.
As part of this we were asked to produce, film and edit a series of films to help children studying Shakespeare at GCSE and A-Level.
Working with the directors and cast of The Tempest and Hamlet as well as the RSC's Artistic Director, we filmed a series of workshops over the course of six months examining different ways of playing some of the key roles and scenes in the plays and the use of different acting techniques to explore the text.
Each film meets the requirements of the national curriculum and seeks to broaden students' understanding and appreciation of literature.
