Cranfield University, sponsored by the Gates Foundation, approached NextShoot with the challenge of explaining the mechanics and business model of their prototype nano-membrane toilet for use in developing countries in a clear and engaging manner.
The animation and virtual modelling, combined with music and authentic West African voiceovers, delivered Cranfield's message in an entertaining, accessible and informative way for use on their website, social media and at Gates Foundation events around the world.
The video has been viewed over 350,000 times on YouTube, helped in no small part by Bill Gates tweeting it.
'We needed a video that made a complicated scientific system easy to understand for a wide audience. This video played at our exhibition stand for the project and is on our website and has been incredibly effective at explaining the context of the project as well as the explanation of a complex system. What NextShoot delivered was better than anyone on our team expected.'
